Ordering a custom cake, step by step

Ordering a custom cake in Townsville should be easy. You talk to me, the baker, from first message to handover. Here’s exactly how it works.

Enquire
Fill in the quick enquiry form (or build your cake first to see a price). Add your date, guest count, ideas and any inspiration photos. I reply within 24 hours.

Get a written quote
Size, serve type, flavours, design level, extras, delivery, the total, the deposit and the balance due date, all in writing. Quotes are valid for 7 days. Your date isn’t held until the deposit is paid.

A deposit locks your date
A 50% deposit holds your date. Orders under $150 are paid in full, and so are bookings inside 14 days. You’ll tick to accept the Terms first.

Design approved in writing
We agree the design by message so there are no surprises. Changes close 7 days before your celebration.

Balance due
The rest is due 7 days before your celebration. You’ll get a reminder. Pay by PayID or bank transfer, or by card. No card surcharges.

Bake week
Your cake is baked fresh, and I check it against your order and any allergies.

Pick-up or delivery
Pick-up is by appointment at [PICKUP_LOCATION] during [PICKUP_HOURS]. Pick-up by appointment. Saturday afternoons and Sundays are delivery only. Delivery is available across Townsville, and tiered cakes are delivered and set up by me. A care card comes with every cake.

Enjoy, and tell me how it went
A day or two after, I’ll check in and ask for an honest review. If you said yes to a reminder, I’ll also send a nudge before next year’s celebration.

Lead times

How far ahead should I order?

At least 14 days. For detailed designs, 3–4 weeks.

2- and 3-tier cakes take more planning, so ask as early as you can. I deliver and set them up myself; see delivery.

Ask anyway. Inside 7 days there’s a rush fee if I have a free slot. Or try a Quick Pick.
